NBA x ESPN Interactive Fan Zone
PROJECT
This project was designed to create an interactive fan experience centred around 'Brand NBA' that prompts physical engagement, that is innovative, drives program amplification via digital and social channels and that ultimately encourages a wider viewing audience of NBA on ESPN in Australia and drives ticket sales to the X-Games in Sydney.The challenge was to create an interactive multimedia fan experience that increases awareness of the NBA and provides a platform to explore the brand through the ESPN content service.
We presented a range of NBA player cardboard cut-outs, displaying various attributes that fans can measure themselves against and housed NBA Championship Trophy, which act as a photo opportunity for fans. We also designed official NBA merchandise zone for demonstration purposes. we provided fans with an opportunity aimed at capturing the best ‘slam-dunk’ of the X-Games event. 56 cameras simultaneously captured the content, which was then sent back to each fans via a branded eDM, containing a slow motion video for social media amplification.A large format screen effectively acted as a 'live-site' where people can watch a highlight reel of the NBA.
